![]() ![]() Should I expect Mitsubishi to cover the damage when the clutch goes out? When the transfer case explodes? When I sheer off 1st gear? No way in hell. I know plenty of Evo guys with mods and track days who have still gotten lots of repairs covered under warranty, but a Google search on Evo warranty coverage would tell you otherwise.įact of the matter is, if you beat the hell out of, modify, or track your car which is sold as a street vehicle, why would you expect warranty to cover any damage caused by any other use? I can go outside, rev my engine to the limiter, and dump the clutch repeatedly. I'm willing to bet a much larger percentage of GTR owners are on internet car forums compared to Porsche owners. GTRs I see as more weekend/track day cars, which seem like a bit of a waste to daily drive. It's got four doors, is plenty comfortable in MR trim, and has enough power to be exciting on the streets without being dangerous. Does that mean Miatas are "better" then GTRs? No, they are just a different car with a different set of skills. However, the GTR falls on it's face in autox and other tight events because it's just too heavy. It beats the Evo in that environment, no question. GTR is great in it's element, on a dry full length road course. It's a different car with a different set of design parameters (beat the 911 Turbo) with a different set of compromises from the Evo. I don't get why people are so obsessed with claiming one car is better then another. MOST evo owners wish they had a GTR, are working towards a GTR or try to justify why their evo is better, faster or cheaper than a GTR.Flaming on I mean, I'm not trying to sell scare tactics or anything, but simple 5 minute research proves almost everything you've said is wrong. Meanwhile, a quick search on Nissan denying warranty claims gives pages and pages and pages of results. the gt3 is, and porsche is generally more forgiving about damage to them, esp when the event happens at a pca event. After some pretty extensive searching, the only thing I saw Porsche deny a warranty claim for was the PCCB braking system used at the track, which is a *braking system* which is generally a wear item anyway.ĭuring my searching, I saw several instances of modified 911 Turbos having plenty of warranty claims after track use with no issues from dealerships. porsche denies warranty claims on tracked turbos, because the turbo is NOT a track car. Stop buying the scare hype thats out there.Īlso, 911T is an AWEFUL track car. check nagtroc (i read every day) and you'll see this to be so. They have since stood very well behind their warranties and cars. Nissan had a bad track record w/ the original 2009s. you two seem to be fighting back and forth quite a bit w/ faulty info. If you like GTR I think GTR2 will be well worth it, its a pretty cheap game anyway. From all my mates in our online league they have commented that the AI is very very good, so racing should be fun on and off line. So just on my initial look I would say it will make a much better online experience. I have only driven the demo, it feels much better, the cars are easier to drive out of the corners but, with all the aids off you can still very easily end in the wall. I feel it may have been in connection with tire wear as well, but however it was accounted for it wasn't linear and low speed grip was all wrong to boot. This was a real pain as some laps you thought you could rely on the car and then all of a sudden you had nothing with not warning. The main issue with GTR was the low speed grip which was at best erratic. However, if they choose to make it easier to control all cars, that's OK too. ![]() I'm still on the lesser powerful beasts like the BMWs and smaller Porsches, and have left the Saleen and other monsters for when I'm more proficient at controlling them. I don't really have any problems with the difficulty curve of GTR. ![]()
